This year in Social Studies my favorite unit was The Great War which was about World War I. This was my favorite unit because it was about the hardships of war and what war is really like and that to me is very interesting. I learned in that unit that the first tanks, machine guns, and bombs were used in that war. I also learned that Germany never really had a good empire until then, when they had a great empire. Throughout the year we have worked with maps. While working with maps we have learned to judge maps and make scales. We learned how to use a map’s scale to judge the distance from one place on the map to the other. The knowledge and skills that I have learned in Social Studies can help me in later years to become a choreographer or help me be a Social Studies teacher. I have learned a lot in social studies this year and I hope to do the same next year.
